The SMC Dialog Plus series offers controllers with 4 standard starting modes which include the soft start with selectable kick start, current limit start with selectable kick start, dual ramp start, and the full voltage start. In addition to the 4 standard starting modes, the SMC Dialog Plus controllers also feature expanded protective and diagnostics capabilities that include the energy saver, phase rebalance, electronic overload protection, stall protection, jam detection, over-temperature protection, and metering features. The Allen-Bradley 40888-490-01-B1FX module, like every SMC Dialog Plus module, features a built-in serial interface port called the “SCANport†which provides a connection point for the Bulletin 1201 human-machine interface modules and the Bulletin 1203 communication modules. This provides the SMC Dialog Plus controllers with Remote I/O, DeviceNet, RS-232/422/485 (DF1 protocol), DH-485, and ControlNet communication capabilities.
